I went out this afternoon and purchased this product. It was impossible to turn on the unit, and it was past the store's return deadline. That's where the good review ends.
The menus display and it scans, but it fails to find any stations. Zoom displays 4:3 programming with no black bars and in the correct aspect ratio, and displays the wide-screen programs without distorting the image, but the left and the right sides are cut off.

Live in Las Vegas, can get about 40 channels free, english and spanish, but, you need to buy antenna, not included. Signal comes through antenna to converter to tv, Cohverter set the channels with magnovox remote. Read the instructions, otherwise, you'll probably end up returning it. With cable costs rising over the years, we've been looking for alternatives and realized that 90% of the programming we watch is available on our local channels. We paired this unit with a Mohu Leaf and now that a few weeks have gone by. In fact, we were so impressed with the sheer number of channels available in our area and the quality is every bit as good if not Conveeter than cablethat we ordered another one of these for our guest bedroom. Great deal on these units, as well as the antennas, and they will pay for themselves in just a few months! Finally cut the cable from Comcast because I was able to get this digital converter box and a decent antenna. I got more channels than I expected and they came in really clear. Don't scrimp on the antenna. Very easy to install and get working. Haven't been without cable for over 25 years! Used a friends converter Magnavox DTV Digital to Analog Converter TB110MW9A my new home. So goodbye overdemanding cable providers.
